The process for repaying Insured deposits is different to the Custodial process.

If you and your tenants have agreed how the deposit should be repaid, you’ll be responsible for paying back the amount you’ve agreed to them. You’ll need to tell us that the deposit has been repaid. Once this is done, we’ll send confirmation to you and the tenants.

If you can’t reach an agreement, you’ll need to tell us about the dispute. If this happens, our free Dispute Resolution Service is there to help you resolve your dispute. We’ll ask you to send us the amount of deposit that’s in dispute which we’ll hold until the dispute is resolved. You’ll need to repay the undisputed deposit to the tenants.
