The tenant has passed away. How do I return the deposit to the next of kin? In the sad event of a tenant's death, to allow the estate representative to request return of the deposit, we need:
A copy of the Will and death certificate, or
A Grant of Probate naming the Executor(s).
We can then update the tenancy record and send the Executor(s) everything they need to request the return of the deposit.
